Gastrointestinal Outbreak Linked to Bobae Korean Noodle House & Bar

1 day ago source kingcounty.gov business

3720 Factoria Boulevard Southeast, Bellevue, 98006 Washington, United States

Bobae Korean Noodle House & Bar in Bellevue, Washington, was linked to a gastrointestinal illness outbreak affecting seven individuals. The illnesses, reported on February 19 and 20, 2026, were consistent with bacterial toxins, though no specific food or drink was identified as the cause. The investigation has been completed.

The outbreak was characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea, stomach pains, nausea, chills, and body aches. Public Health officials conducted interviews with the affected individuals to gather information on their symptoms and food consumption. A site visit on February 24, 2026, revealed food safety violations, including improper temperature control of food items, which can facilitate bacterial growth and toxin production.

The problem was discovered after the seven individuals reported their illnesses following meals at the restaurant. Although no laboratory testing was conducted, the symptoms and circumstances suggested bacterial toxins as the cause. The restaurant was temporarily closed to address the identified issues and was allowed to reopen on February 27, 2026, after compliance with food safety standards was confirmed.
