Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on their weekly data table about outbreaks investigations published a Salmonella Weltevreden outbreak linked to pre-cooked shrimp. To date, a total of 6 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Weltevreden have been reported. The most recent illness occurred in late April 2021.So far, the investigation indicates that pre-cooked shrimp is the likely source of this outbreak, however, it appears that the product lots linked to outbreak illnesses are past their shelf life and are no longer available for sale. The investigation is ongoing.
