Soft-serve ice cream and ice cream cakes can cause food poisoning. The most commonly reported symptoms from Carvel food poisoning are diarrhea and vomiting. In the past, Carvel was forced to recall ice cream and cakes topped with peanut butter because of Salmonella contamination.
“I ordered a half chocolate half butter pecan ice cream yesterday prior to my trip home. I got food poisoning! I ate nothing else and it did taste a little off. I was sick the entire flight and all night long. You may want to remove and replace with something... fresh prior to anyone else getting sick. ”
“Chicken burrito bowl w/ guacamole, black beans and queso. Ate dinner at Moe's and within 15 minutes started to experience severe abdominal cramping and chills. Within 30 minutes began to experience nausea and diarrhea which persisted on and off for 4 hours despite taking medication to alleviate symptoms. Ate a... fruit parfait around noon and had no adverse reaction so it was most certainly something at Moe's. Never experienced a food reaction like this before. ”
