It's possible to get food poisoning from airline food served on a flight. Diarrhea and nausea are the most commonly reported symptoms of United Airlines food poisoning. In late 2017, Listeria was found at the facilities of a food manufacturer that caters to United Airlines.

nauseous to the gonna puke right now stage, stewardess made the obligatory "take you seat" comment and I reminded her of the physics of puke and shit using the downhill analogy, she smiled. I puked and could've shit through a straw ALL THE WAY ACCROSS THE ATLANTIC, to Madrid anyway. Actually told one of the stewardess that, was pretty sure I was dying, and she informed me the pilot's aware "of the situation" and that we have like 15 minutes to make a decision to divert and land in Greenland.
