Only ate at restaurant Arenal inside hotel xcaret arte on Sunday, today is day 2 of both of us experiencing diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration. The dinner shrimp entree tasted funny, and was very mushy so we didn't finish it, believe likely bad shrimp improperly stored.

Went to open buffet multiple times & sampled a lot of different items. Ended up extremely ill on the day I has to travel home. (Crippling stomach cramps, extreme diarrhea, nausea.) It was absolutely miserable.

all by hand without gloves. UPDATE 08/09: I went to Xcaret Hotel in Mexico, July 1 for 13 days.. I noticed VERY poor food handling (no gloves.. lots of people handling food no gloves) On the 10th of July, I started having diarrhea, sore muscles, feverish, a cough, feeling terrible,. When I got home, my doctor told me I caught COVID-19 at the resort. as incubation was about 7 days. It is now 2023-08-09, feeling much better, BUT still have a nagging cough. This ruined 3-4 days of my vacation at this VERY expensive resort.

We arrived at the hotel on Feb. 25th. On the 27th we all ate at Encanta for dinner. That night we all went to bed right after and 4 of us all got sick with vomiting and diarrhea. (Some had body aches, one also got a uti,

some had fever.) Last night, March 2nd, everyone finally felt well enough to eat together again, and chino poblano. 1 person left and immediately started throwing up and vomiting that night and this morning another person did also. So in total 6 people out of 8 from our group have all gotten sick. You can expect minimal support from the hotel. Our concierge did get us some anti diarrhea pills and electrolytes (which we paid for), but only after we complained of her ignoring our pleas for help. Since she dropped those items off on the morning of the 28th, she’s not checked in on us once, even though we shared with her that the doctor we saw in the resort on the 1st, (who we also payed to see), prescribed us something they told us the concierge could help get for us, our concierge never even acknowledged or helped us with that! Thoroughly disappointed. I think they have stopped following the same cleanliness protocols they had during Covid. During Covid we came 3 times and never had any problems, so sad to see it go down hill so much :(

I believe I have food poisoning. Developed stomach cramps over night followed by diarrhea all day with a headache. I have been careful with water and have not used tap and use the bottle water for brushing teeth. Hoping for relief soon?
