Update March 9th, 2026:The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has clarified that the recall includes products with the listed lot numbers regardless of their best-by date. The product list was updated to reflect this change.
The recall expansion announced on March 3rd adds approximately 33,617,045 pounds of frozen ready-to-eat (RTE) and not ready-to-eat (NRTE) chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai dumpling products, bringing the total recalled amount to 36,987,575 pounds.
The additional products were produced between October 21, 2024, and February 26, 2026, under the brands Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei, and Trader Joe’s, and were shipped to retail locations nationwide. Some Ajinomoto items were also exported to Canada and Mexico.
The contamination investigation determined that carrots used as a vegetable ingredient were the likely source of the glass fragments found in the products.

Hi, thanks for your comment. If your product’s best-by date is different from the dates listed in the recall, it is not currently included in the recall notice. However, if you are unsure or feel uncomfortable consuming the product, it is always safest to err on the side of caution and discard it or contact the manufacturer directly for clarification. For the most accurate guidance, you can also check the official recall notice or reach out to Trader Joe’s customer service. Hope this is helpful. Best, Iwaspoisoned Support.
