Sushi Wasabi recalled due to Undeclared Allergen

Ming Hong International Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall of its Sushi Wasabi product due to an undeclared allergen Yellow 5. The product was distributed to wholesale distributors, retail customers, and restaurants across multiple U.S. states (CA, WA, OR, TX, MN, NV, IN, IL, MI, PA, HI, NM, MO, CO, FL, KS, UT, NC, OH, OK), Barbados, Canada, and Guam.

The recalled product is:
- Branded as Sushi Wasabi
- Packaged in 5-gram ready-to-eat packs.
- It contains horseradish, corn oil, salt, water, citric acid, turmeric, and FD&C Blue #1.
- The affected lot is marked with a best-by date of 02/09/2024
- The recall involves 1848 cases (each containing 2000 packs).

The issue was discovered during a routine label review, leading to a Class II recall initiated on July 16, 2025, and classified on July 23, 2025. The recall is ongoing, and no press release has been issued.
