I am a type 1 diabetic who monitors my blood sugar very well. I ate Chuys with my friends (Grilled chicken fajita soft shell tacos) on December 30, feeling not the best after I had eaten. The next morning, December 31, I began vomiting every 15-20 minutes starting at 6:30 a.m. I contacted my endocrinologist and she prescribed Zofran, a sublingual medication used to stop vomiting. The vomiting continued as well as severe diarrhea, cold sweats, and stomach cramping. The ketones in my urine were increasing, which is dangerous for a Type 1 diabetic. I was unable to keep liquids down and was severely dehydrated. I was sent to the hospital and was on fluids as well as medication and constant monitoring. At some point, I was experiencing tachycardia and low potassium levels, both pretty dangerous. Needless to say I’m never going back. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Cramps, Dehydration, Sweating
