Yersinia Outbreak at EMU BBQ - Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti Michigan

1 year ago reported by user-ngwkd428 business

Eastern Michigan University, Oakwood Street, Ypsilanti, MI, USA

900 Oakwood Street, Ypsilanti, 48197 Michigan, United States

Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Cramps
Suspected source: yersina
Onset: 1 to 2 days
Duration: Several Weeks
Additional information: EMU had an outdoor BBQ event with buffet style food that was the only unusual thing I ate for days prior. Yersina infection was confirmed in the Emergency Department. The public health department reported in their phone call to me that the most common causes are livestock, undercooked pork, or someone who did not wash their hands. I do not keep livestock. I have a pet bunny who has not been sick, and I am careful to not eat her poop.... | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Cramps
