BLTs Cause Lingering Illness - Snack Bar, Hickory North Carolina

7 years ago reported by user-mnkq2132 business

Snack Bar, 1st Avenue Southwest, Hickory, NC, USA

1346 1st Avenue Southwest, Hickory, 28602 North Carolina, United States

Wednesday October 3 2018 met four friends for breakfast. Thursday one of them (youngest) had a 24 hr bout with diarrhea. I started feeling weak on Friday Saturday night (October 6) I had a fever chills and severe diarrhea began. Symptoms including profuse sweating and chills along with hourly diarrhea lasted through Monday October 8. One friend (older than I) made a trip out of State and had exact symptoms as I exact timing. We both ate a BLT one with mayo the other with mustard. Today is 10-15-18 and the two of us are STILL battling the diarrhea. Fever and chills stopped but cant leave the house due to the explosive diarrhea. Since I had not seen the friend in person since the prior week nor Seen him since Oct. 3 it is clear we contracted what we did at the restaurant. Dont know if its sickness or food poisoning but believe it came from the kitchen-food preparer. I understand now there arehave been a number of staff sick. This is not right the restaurant needs to hold employees accountable for their health. We continue to suffer two weeks later because somebody wanted a paycheck | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Weakness, Chills, Sweating
