I reported similar sickness from Lucky Charms months ago. I can't believe they are still in the shelf! And what's worse, I always see BOGO sales. It's almost like they know there's a problem and they're trying to make as much money off of all of us while they can, before this is taken seriously, and they're told to stop.

Fullei Fresh is voluntarily recalling Alfalfa Sprouts due to the detection of Shiga toxin producing E.coli (STEC.) There have been no known illnesses reported to date in connection with this product. They were shipped to distributors and retailers in Florida between December 9-23, 2022.

It was detected upon a sampling of the finished product by the FDA. The affected Fullei Fresh brand alfalfa sprout lot number is 336. No other lots or products are affected. The lot numbers are printed on the 8-ounce retail packs and on 5 lb. bulk cardboard boxes in the barcode (the last 3 digits being 336.) Pictures are attached below. The producer advises consumers that if they are in possession of these products, please discard them.
Shiga toxin producing E.coli is an organism that can cause foodborne illness in a person who eats a food item contaminated with it. Symptoms of infection may include stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. The illness primarily impacts elderly individuals, children, and people with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill.

Environmental Health investigators visited the restaurant on January 24, 2023. They observed improper food handling practices, including blocked access to handwashing facilities, improper storage of wiping cloths, risk of cross-contamination, and lack of maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing of food equipment and physical facilities. Investigators closed the restaurant during their visit on January 24, 2023. The restaurant was required to complete a thorough cleaning and disinfection.
