1 year ago source canada.ca

Canada

Sweet Cream, a popular bakery brand, is currently linked to an outbreak of Salmonella infections. The infections are associated with the brand's mini pastries, with 61 reported cases across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick.

The outbreak has led to 61 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis illness. The affected individuals range in age from 3 to 88, with a majority being female (61%). The mini pastries were distributed to various locations including bakeries, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and retirement residences. They were also served at catered events. Of the reported cases, 17 have resulted in hospitalizations, but no deaths have been reported.

The issue was discovered following a series of food recall warnings issued for Sweet Cream's mini pastries. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is actively investigating the situation. The public health notice will be updated as the investigation progresses.
