Recall notice

La Guadalupana Ready-To-Eat Frozen Tamales recalled due to Undeclared Allergen

4 weeks ago source fsis.usda.gov

United States

La Guadalupana Foods LLC is recalling approximately 2,669 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen tamales due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The products, mislabeled as mild pork tamales, contain cheese, a known allergen not listed on the label. These items were distributed to restaurant and retail locations in Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The recalled product is packaged in 10.9-lb. plastic-lined boxes containing 50 frozen tamales, labeled as "La Guadalupana MILD PORK TAMALES Wrapped in Corn Husks." The pack date is "10/07/25" with a best buy date of "10/08/26." The products bear the establishment number "EST. 21094" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The issue was identified when a restaurant reported finding bean, cheese, and jalapeno tamales mislabeled as pork tamales. The recall was initiated following this discovery, as announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
