Food Safety Report - Big Way Hot Pot (K-town), Toronto Ontario

2 weeks ago reported by user-vwvh2316 business

Big Way Hot Pot (K-town), Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada

559 Bloor Street West, Toronto, M5S 1Y6 Ontario, Canada

It was possibly the chicken that was uncooked or cross contamination. I take issue with the layout of the restaurant and I believe this is why there have been quite a few food poisining complaints across different locations. First, when you are given a pot the meat is the first option to select plus you are given your own tongs as opposed to having designated tongs for each container of ingredient. Thus, there is already risk of cross contamination. Second, those who cannot eat pork or even those who are vegetarian run the risk of contamination as well. Fixing this issue costs no money as Big Way already has copious amounts of tongs for its customers. Just utilise these tongs in a different way rather than allowing cross contamination. Alternatively, you could put vegetables and noodles first and meat last so that people are more inclined to select their ingredients in this order, although there is room for error here, so the first idea is better. I'd like to see this improvement because the service at Big Way is amazing at the Bloor Street location in Toronto but I would like to feel safer eating this delicious food. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills
