Sunday November 26, 2023 I ordered a two beef enchilada combo for myself, and a single shredded chicken enchilada for my 87 year old mother. Tuesday morning November 28, I was awoken by my mother who was extremely ill. She had diarrhea, and was vomiting, and almost passed out. As I was trying to assist her, I got real sweaty, and had to use the toilet where I had a little diarrhea myself, but felt better afterwards. My mother however did not. Ended up having to call 911, a trip by ambulance to the ER. She was diagnosed with Clostridioides difficile (infection of the colon), acute pancreatitis. C. difficile is transmitted through contaminated food from an infected person. You can also get it from taking certain antibiotics, which she has not taken any. The evening prior to this, my stomach was making all kinds of strange noises. At that time, I didn't feel that bad. As a result, my mother has been severely sick for several days, will now have a huge medical bill, and I've lost two days work caring for her 24 hours a day.
