Inspectors found significant food safety violations during the inspection. There was no Chicago certified food manager on site while time- and temperature-controlled foods such as chicken, eggs, and macaroni and cheese were being prepared or served, and the person in charge did not have a Chicago food manager certificate. A citation was issued for this Priority Foundation violation.Inspectors also observed poor hand hygiene, including food handlers putting on hair nets and gloves without washing their hands. Employees were also seen using gloves improperly, including touching a phone while wearing gloves. A citation was issued for the Priority handwashing violation.
Additional issues included a gap under the rear prep area door and an open drive-thru area that were not protected against insects or rodents, a loose cooler gasket, water dripping from the ice machine, dirty floor drains under equipment, and mops stored in buckets instead of being allowed to air dry.
