Inspectors found a significant food safety violation involving eggs held at 87.6°F in a rear dry storage area, well above the required cold holding temperature of 41°F. The inspection report states that 16 dozen eggs, valued at $119, were discarded, and a citation was issued. Inspectors also found chicken being thawed improperly in a container on the floor.Other findings included missing thermometers in reach-in coolers, unlabeled food containers, food stored on the floor, and food handlers preparing food without required hair or beard restraints. Inspectors also noted frozen meat stored in non-food-grade plastic bags and sauce stored in Home Depot buckets instead of food-grade containers.
Additional maintenance and cleanliness issues included missing or nonworking sink stoppers, a leaking hot water handle at the three-compartment sink, dirty cooler interiors, and clutter stored on the floor in the rear storage area.
