Family Pizza Night Illness - Papa John's, Northport Alabama

3 years ago reported by user-gwgt1139 business

Papa Johns Pizza, McFarland Boulevard, Northport, AL, USA

2503 McFarland Boulevard, Northport, 35476 Alabama, United States

On Wednesday October 12, 2022 my husband, daughter, and myself ordered a stuffed crust cheese pizza from here . Later that night I felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom and began vomiting. Shortly after I finished I got in my bed and I heard my daughter vomiting, my husband and I got up and cleaned her up. I felt horribly fatigued and I could not stop shaking and before I could close my eyes to go to sleep my husband was in the bathroom vomiting as well. At the moment we were confused as to what may have happened the only one that didn’t eat the pizza was my Autistic 3 year old son and he was perfectly fine, so we realized that the pizza was the problem. I spent the rest of the night in agony vomiting nonstop and on the bathroom floor in tears , so my husband called my mother and she drove 2 hrs to take me to the nearest Emergi Care. I got X-rays while there and they had to give me 2 bags of iv fluids because the doctor stated I was severely dehydrated. Afternoon being there for hours on Thursday I finally get home and I to rest the next morning my husband and daughter are still continuously running off and I noticed my daughters appetite never picked back up and she had begun vomiting again however it wasn’t much because she hadn’t been eating, but this time she would hold her tummy and cry in agony so when I noticed she had the same symptoms I had just experienced the day before I took her to First Kids Urgent Care and they were very alarmed by her distended belly and how hard it was so they advised us to take her to Childrens Hospital immediately. After waiting there for hours they decided it was best to admit her and do X-rays and ultrasounds to be sure there weren’t any gastrointestinal issues going on that would require surgery. After giving her iv fluids and zofran and pain meds she finally was able to sleep without being in pain. The doctor then came in and advised us that with the excess air in her belly it leads them to believe it was more so food poisoning, and that is when i advised the doctor about the pizza and she said that is more than likely where it came from and they advised me to be sure when we get home to let the establishment know because it is likely than more than just my husband, daughter, and myself that got sick from eating there that night. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Gas, Shaking, Dehydration
