11 Carrer de la Punta del Cavall, Salou, 43840 Catalunya, Spain
**FOOD POISONING INCIDENT REPORT****Restaurant Details:**
Name: Restaurante Cap Salou
Address: Carrer de la Punta del Cavall, Salou, Spain
Date of Visit: Thursday, 21 August 2025
**Incident Summary:**
My 11-year-old son and I both consumed squid at this restaurant during our holiday in Salou. We were the only two family members who ordered and ate the squid dish, and we were subsequently the only ones to become ill with food poisoning symptoms.
**Timeline of Events:**
- Thursday evening (21/8/25): Consumed squid dish at Restaurante Cap Salou
- Friday morning (22/8/25): Both my son and I began experiencing severe food poisoning symptoms approximately 8-12 hours after eating
**Symptoms Experienced:**
Both patients developed:
- Persistent vomiting
- High fever
- Nausea
- Dehydration
- Fatigue and weakness
- Loss of appetite
My son's condition was particularly concerning as he experienced consistent vomiting throughout the morning, reluctance to consume fluids, and periods of regression after brief improvements. His symptoms were severe enough that we considered emergency hospital treatment.
**Current Status:**
After sustained fluid intake and rest, symptoms have begun to improve, though we continue to monitor the situation closely.
**Important Notes:**
- Only the two family members who consumed squid became ill
- Other family members who ate different dishes remained completely healthy
- This strongly suggests the squid dish was the source of contamination
- The severity of symptoms, particularly in a child, indicates significant bacterial contamination
**Request for Action:**
We request that this establishment be inspected for food safety violations, particularly regarding seafood handling, storage, and preparation procedures. This incident posed a serious health risk, especially to my young son, and could potentially affect other customers if food safety practices are not addressed.
**Contact Information:**
Available upon request for any follow-up investigation required.
**Date of Report:** 22 August 2025 | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache, Dehydration, Weakness, Fatigue, Loss of Appetite, Safety violation
