Rodent Infestation Shuts Restaurant - Toro's Express, Leicester England

7 years ago source mirror.co.uk business

144 East Park Road, Leicester, LE5 4QB England, United Kingdom

Closure Date: 11-10-2018
Reason For Closure:
Elizabeth Johnson, an environmental health officer at Leicester City Council, said she visited Toro's Express and carried out an inspection.

She said: “I was quite shocked. Rodent activity was quite extensive.

“In the preparation area we found droppings under all the equipment. We found cardboard had been laid on the floor under all this equipment.
“As well as congealed grease it was stained with what appeared to be mice urine as well as mouse droppings, fruit flies and maggot cases.

“Under an oven I noted a knife had been dropped. A mouse dropping was stuck on the blade.

“There was extensive evidence of mouse activity throughout the premises, as well as very poor standards of cleanliness and actual contaminated food.

“Pest control was not effective. The amount of dirt and food debris on the floor meant that mice would have plenty of food to feed on in preference to eating any poisoned bait laid down."
