The day before yesterday, on 8.8.2022 at 20:00, I ate about half a bag of Lays brand chips, taste “paprika”. After about 1 hour I became slightly nauseous and I had balance problems/dizziness with stable circulation. The next morning on 9.8.2022, the symptoms were still there and... became stronger throughout the day. I developed severe vision problems (everything turned around, like a hangover after drinking alcohol or after an excessive carousel ride; when there was no alcohol consumption) with severe fatigue, lightheadedness and nausea. In the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, I threw up violently (only the chips, the dinner I had eaten before the chips had already been digested “normally”). Vision and balance disorders continued, and are still slightly present today, 10.8.2022. So is the nausea.
Since I absolutely don't know these symptoms of mine (never had any balance or vision problems, and the last time I threw up 9 years ago), and I ate named chips for the first time, I think it's very likely that these chips contained something poisonous. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Bile, Dizziness

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, the USDA-FSIS, and the FDA are investigating a multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to Deli Meat and Cheese. As of November 9, 2022, 16 people infected with the outbreak strain of Listeria have been reported from... 6 states (CA, IL, MD, MA, NJ and NY). 13 people have been hospitalized, 1 person got sick during their pregnancy, resulting in pregnancy loss, and 1 death has been reported from MD. The investigation is ongoing.
Information collected so far shows that deli meat and cheese purchased at deli counters in multiple states are the likely sources of this outbreak. It is difficult for investigators to identify a single food as the source of outbreaks linked to deli meats and cheeses. This is because Listeria spreads easily between food and the deli environment and can persist for a long time in deli display cases and on equipment. A contaminated food likely introduced the outbreak strain of Listeria into delis in multiple states. Investigators are working to identify any specific products or delis that may be contaminated with the outbreak strain.
CDC advises people at higher risk of severe Listeria illness to not eat meat or cheese from any deli counter, unless it is reheated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot.

I ordered 3 pizzas from our local restaurant, a thin crust pepperoni, stuffed crust pepperoni and a Hawaiian pizza. The thin crust tasted weird like moldy or something. 3 of us got really sick, 2 of us have vomited and have diarrhea from it. The only thing... I can think of is it was either the cheese, the sauce or the dough. I will no longer be buying pizza from them. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting

The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is investigating illnesses with GI symptoms in Clearwater Creek Elementary in Olathe, KS. They have identified norovirus as the illness of the outbreak. To date, the cause was not identified but it is suspected the outbreak appears to be... isolated to Clearwater Creek.
According to the news, the principal Nate Kremer informed Clearwater Elementary School families that 150 students and staff members were absent due to sickness. In total, there are 541 students and 26 teachers at the school, which house students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Olathe Public Schools announced Oct. 26 that it was closing the Clearwater Creek Elementary school due to an "exceedingly high” number of absences. After the school closed, custodial crews worked to deep clean and disinfect the building, and it was reopened on Monday, Oct. 31.
The Kansas Department of Agriculture held a foodborne illness outbreak inspection at the school on Monday, according to KDA Director of Communications Heather Lansdowne. The visit also included an environmental assessment.
Norovirus is very contagious and is easily transmitted from person to person most through the oral/fecal route. Considering that hand sanitizer does NOT work against this virus, it is important to wash your hands with soap frequently. Use bleach to clean and disinfect surfaces.
