Epidemiologist here - please go to the doctor and request a stool sample. This sounds like Shigella or Campylobacter if both you and your dog have it. The only way to implicate the restaurant is through a laboratory stool culture. If it’s laboratory confirmed, the state can investigate. If it’s not laboratory confirmed, they won’t investigate. I hope you and your pup feel better soon. I know it’s not fun, I was there a few years ago!
