    Product: Cocoa Puffs

    Updated: June 5, 2022 6:21 PM
I know that there have been a lot of recent reports of illnesses from boxes of Cocoa Puffs and Lucky Charms, however, these cereals have made me sick after eating them for the past couple of years which is why I don't eat them so much anymore.... See More Thinking it would be a good pick-me-up in the morning with my busy schedule, I recently bought two packs of cereal bars- one of Cocoa Puffs and one Lucky Charms- a couple of weeks ago, from a local grocery store, and once again, every time I eat them, I feel incredibly sick. I start feeling extremely nauseous and dizzy, and I also experience heart palpitations and near fainting spells to the point where I need to lie down because standing makes me feel worse.

While this may very well be an indicator of a condition that I may have that I don't know about (I will definitely make an appointment with my doctor in regards to this because I'm almost sure that the cereal is not the only culprit to blame), I do feel that all sugary cereals that are marketed to children and other popularly consumed foods need to be investigated due to the mere fact that these cereals contain very high levels of sugar and other ingredients that may not be fit for human consumption. (For example, many cereals contain Trisodium Phosphate (TSP)- also a common ingredient in fast food and other processed foods- and while it is considered a food additive that is safe for consumption in small amounts, over time this can be considered to be incredibly dangerous to consume and is linked to conditions such as kidney damage, and other conditions that the public should be more informed about. Cocoa Puffs  Not really, It happened This past Saturday night I ate Cocoa Puffs for supper!! Had diarrhea for the next 2 days, as well as body chills. | Symptoms: Nausea, Chills See Less

i ate cocoa puffs around 5pm yesterday and felt sick immediately. The naseau and stomach pain was the worse. At first i thought maybe it was constipation and took a laxative but that only made it worse. Now i have been throwing up for hours even just... See More water. i can’t keep anything done. i will soon be going to the ER or urgent care if symptoms do not get better. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Constipation See Less

My daughter eats Cocoa Puffs on Sunday, and the past few Sundays she felt immediately bad after eating it. First we thought it was milk, then sugary breakfast. We have been gradually taking milk and other thing out and today gave her Cocoa Puffs. She felt bad... See More immediately after. We are confident there is something wrong with this cereal and got rid of it. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting See Less

On June 8th, 2022 I received an Instacart order from here which included Lucky Charms. At the time there was a BOGO and the first box of cereal we opened was Cocoa Puffs. A little over a month later is when I started to consume the box... See More of Lucky Charms. I was approximately 36-37 weeks pregnant. I became very sick (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, increased heart rate). I started having contractions due to this and went to the hospital where I was hospitalized for approximately 3 days and 2 nights. Doctors and myself really couldn’t guess what could have caused it so they called it a stomach flu. Now that I’m reading about other people who have gotten sick from eating Lucky Charms, it would make sense to say that could have caused me my illness. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever See Less

Wasn’t sure at first until I read an article about General Mills Lucky Charms. I didn’t have lucky charms, but one bowl of Cocoa Puffs last night, which is also made by General Mills. It happened Today  | Symptoms: Vomiting See Less

New Cocoa Puffs makes my stomach hurt!
I've never had this problem with the old version, but the new cocoa puffs not only look and taste repulsive (and they've became smaller too) but they give me stomach aches for hours most times when I eat them! Today... See More I have a bit of an upset stomach, but I didn't consume as many since I ran out.
Some of the newer cocoa puffs have weird black gunk things attached to them too! And I can tell those black spot things are likely not safe to consume..
I've been having this problem for a long time. Not specific to any store, but in Sherburne County in Minnesota. This problem I've been having more with the brand than a store. | Symptoms: Stomach Pain

Is Cocoa Puffs made by General Mills ? Lucky charms and Cheerios are causing major stomach issues for people currently ?
