Approx. 1 day after returning from South Africa, I began having diarrhea. After 2 days, it got a little better, then got much worse. After testing at the doctor, it was confirmed that I had a parasite. 7 days of antibiotics cleared it up. I had eaten the shrimp.

Spicy Chicken Flight Illness

Felt perfectly fine before, didn’t eat anything worrisome that day. KLM offered only “spicy chicken” (chicken, potatoes and rice), no vegetarian option. After 30min started with diarrhoea and vomiting. 11hr flight completely horrible.

E. Coli from In-Flight Eggs

I was on flight UA2223 from Cape Town South Africa and I got E. Coli from the Eggs on the plane. I had diarrhea for 72 hours before I went to the doctor and they took a stool sample and informed me of the Bacteria.

Became very ill one day after flying, started with feeling very tired, then diarrhea, followed by weakness, headache, intense chills, fever and severe abdominal pain. Have been in bed ever since unable to move. I had chicken and cheese omelette and cheese and turkey sandwich.
