My husband and I stay July 8, 2022 through July 17, 2022. On the third day my husband became ill with diarrhea the next day he had fever and was in bed all day except for using the bathroom with constant diarrhea. The next day I became... See More ill with severe diarrhea and then the fever began for me. We lost the whole rest of our trip due to being sick. Once returning home I saw my doctor and tested positive for salmonella with a stool sample. While staying at this resort we heard other guest discussing their same diarrhea issues. This resort is not handling food properly. Nobody handling food is wearing gloves. Food safety should be a priority. I’ve been hung up on more times than I can count, put on hold more times than I can count. I’ve been trying to reach out to the US Embassy. I have had no luck reaching someone there. There is no one that seems to care about our issue. It is all very frustrating and disappointing to know that once they take your money and you leave there’s nothing that they will do for you. So at least we can all keep making reports and warning others and maybe somehow, something will change. Day 17 now with this sickness. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever See Less

Stayed 7/6-7/12 at majestic colonial. I will never go back. My kid was so sick we had to leave early. Food: this is my biggest disappointment. Not one employee wore gloves. One spoon for the whole salad buffet. One spoon for 5 dishes that had seafood, meat or dairy right next to each other. Meat was either extremely well done or raw. The resort doctor himself said that he does not recommend the cold buffet , to only eat foods when they first come out or are swapped out for new and never to drink the water. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting See Less

All I was request was another night to stay, which I was willing to pay for in order to feel better to travel back home and the Majestic Colonial resort refused.
