Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Cramps, Dehydration, Chills

August 31, 2023, We had 4 in our traveling group including me. We all ate at the same places together. On 8/31/2023 around 4:30 we ate at the Sundeck and had the beef nachos. About an hour later I begin having stomach cramps and diarrhea. By bedtime... See More I felt nauseated, had bone pain, diarrhea constantly and I was freezing. I had sweats while I sleeping, my clothes were damp. Friday morning when I woke up, I was freezing. I stayed in bed all day Friday 9/1/2023. I could not eat, only drank a glass of orange juice for breakfast. Drink water all throughout the day to prevent dehydration. I was so weak I could barely walk. Checked out Saturday morning around 6 am. Still sick and weak with a fever. Slept on the flights home and on the drive home. Still not able to eat or drink because of nausea and diarrhea. I took Imodium that Saturday morning so I could fly home without bathroom brakes every 20-30 minutes. Made it home Saturday night and I’m still sick. Nausea diarrhea chills fever stomach cramps bone aches and no appetite. Sunday morning still sick. All the symptoms still here!!!! Monday (9/4/3023) morning still not able to consume a meal, just bites. Fever is gone but now I have a pea size fever blister on my bottom lip. I’m scheduled to return to work tomorrow however I’m still weak and not eating. Checked my weight this morning because I knew I had lost weight. I went to Jamaica weighing 176. This morning I weighed 169.4. I am really upset and disappointed about this trip. I will return to Jamaica but maybe not at the Moon Palace. Word of advice. If you go😳, DO NOT EAT THE BEEF NACHOS!!!! 🤮. They taste good but you will regret it almost instantly. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Cramps, Dehydration, Chills See Less

Nausea, Diarrhea

A party of 4 including me became sick on Thursday aug. 31, 2023 after eating beef nachos at the Sun deck inside of moon palace! My wife was sick, lacked energy in bed until Saturday sept. 2 when we left! All 4 of us had diarrhea instantly... See More after eating there and still have diarrhea and nausea can’t eat anything on today Sept. 4, 2023!. Buffet bar outside on the resort. We ate beef nachos taco
Instantly we all had diarrhea one after another while sitting at the table. My wife was really sick with nausea, fever , headaches, diarrhea. She was well enough to move abroad to make it back home but we all are back and forth with nausea and diarrhea now on sept 4 2023! No appetite all we can consume is very little food or liquid and it comes right back out like a money counter machine if you know what I mean! What's odd is that this happened after they couldn't persuade us to make an upgrade to our vacation package! From Thursday aug 31, 2023 until sept 2, 2023 they stopped really housekeeping our room and needs until we left! I really hope this wasn't the case! I feel like it though! | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea

Major League Baseball (MLB) terminated its annual General Manager (GM) meetings due to a suspected Norovirus outbreak at the Omni Montelucia Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona, that affected over 10% of the executives present.

The interruptions in the meetings commenced on Wednesday as a result of reported illnesses that... See More initially seemed like food poisoning from Tuesday's buffet. However, the cause has now been traced to the highly infectious Norovirus, realizing that several affected individuals had not consumed the suspect meal. The Norovirus, notorious for being primarily spread via direct contact, can also spread through contaminated food, surfaces, and water.

The outbreak was discovered when illnesses were reported on the opening night and more cases emerged on Wednesday afternoon. This situation prompted the league to discontinue the meetings scheduled to end on Thursday morning. Nearly every team had reported at least one illness, with notable afflictions from members of New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman’s staff and at least eight individuals from the league office.

The general managers meetings often act as the unofficial start to the off-season in baseball, which makes its premature conclusion impactful to consequent events. This outbreak has inevitably enforced modifications to the subsequent agents meetings, which will now be held over Zoom.

Norovirus is very contagious and is easily transmitted from person to person most through the oral/fecal route. Considering that hand sanitizer does NOT work against this virus, it is important to wash your hands with soap frequently. Use bleach to clean and disinfect surfaces.

In case you experience Norovirus symptoms, such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea, report it now. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The Cantaloupes are packaged in cardboard containers bearing the “Malichita” Label (picture attached). This label will identify individual Malichita cantaloupes purchased by consumers.
