To whom it may concern,I attended an event at Hotel and Spa Castell de Cuitat from 6th to 9th February.
The event was fully catered by the hotel.
The event was advertised as being in English.
Myself and other attendees raised several times over the weekend that food was not being properly labelled and the food servers were giving out incorrect information when asked about allergens. Examples of this include gluten being added to soups that we were told were gluten free. Being served pork and told it was beef which led to attendees breaching their religious practices, being told tiramasu was chocolate cake so an attendee with a coffee allergy ate it.
Despite this being reported to hotel staff and event organisers multiple times across the weekend, it did not improve. Many attendees became unwell due to allergen exposure.
I returned back to the UK on Monday and have been very unwell since, with all the symptoms of food poisoning. My doctor has confirmed food poisoning. Many other guests from this event are also reporting similar symptoms, including some who have required hospitalisation. We have tried to report this to the event organisers but they have refused to accept responsibility, so I would like this to be raised directly with food safety authorities to inspect the hotel.
I appreciate your consideration in this matter. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps
