I ordered a Java Chip shake from the Haagen-Dazs located in the food court of the Ala Moana shopping center on Friday March 7th, 2025. While in line, my wife tried two ice cream samples (strawberry cheese cake and white chocolate raspberry truffle) and visibly reacted to both samples. She said they tasted like ‘expired sugary butter’ that left a thick coating in her mouth. She chose not to order. I received my shake, drank it, and approximately 30min to an hour after, began feeling unwell and nauseated. Within a few hours I was projectile vomiting, sweating profusely, and had fever and chills. I continued vomiting, had a terrible headache, and stomach pains through March 8th. I began having multiple episodes of diarrhea on the 8th as well and am still experiencing nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps and pain, headache, and generalized body aches on March 10th, 2025. I was unable to go into work today and I am unsure about the rest of the week if my symptoms do not improve. Something was 100% wrong with that ice cream and milkshake. My wife and I shared all other food eaten, except the milkshake, and she did not experience food poisoning. This situation is alarming, especially following the listeria outbreak in Tacoma in 2023, and needs to be looked in to. I am not lactose intolerant and I have never reacted to dairy in this way, so I know it is a food borne illness. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache, Sweating, Body Ache
