Meal Description
The salad consisted of the following ingredients:

• Grape tomatoes
• Cilantro
• Tortilla strips
• Baja greens mix
• Monterey Jack cheese
• Chicken adobado
• Bacon
• Baja Goddess dressing (served on the side)
The meal was consumed shortly after delivery. No other foods were eaten that evening.
Symptom Onset and Progression
At approximately 1:00 AM on November 2, 2025—about six hours after consuming the salad—I awoke with severe abdominal pain and cramping. By 1:30 AM, I began experiencing multiple bouts of diarrhea, which persisted through the early morning hours.
Throughout Sunday, November 2, the symptoms continued and included:
• Persistent diarrhea
• Severe muscle aches
• Headache
• Low-grade fever
These symptoms significantly interfered with rest and normal daily activities. No other household members reported similar symptoms, and no additional meals or beverages were consumed during the same period. Of note, my husband ordered from Mendocino Farms but did not get sick. He ordered different dish (sandwich).
Assessment
Given the timing of symptom onset and the nature of the illness, the likely cause is foodborne illness associated with the meal prepared by Mendocino Farms (Davis, CA). The source of contamination may have originated from one or more components of the salad, such as the chicken adobado, bacon, or dressing. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache
