Family Sick After Shared Meal - Red Robin, Victoria British Columbia

1 year ago reported by user-cvvrp561 business

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, Tolmie Avenue, Victoria, BC, Canada

800 Tolmie Avenue, Victoria, V8X 3W4 British Columbia, Canada

Family went out for dinner to red robins in Victoria location. 3/5 of us got the bbq grilled chicken burgers, the remaining 2/5 got a buzz style crispy chicken burger and a beef burger. We all shared a tower of onion rings and each got a side of fries along with two dips chipotle and ranch. About 1 to 2 hours later we all started to experience symptoms of sweating, fever, and nausea and about 4 hours later started to throw up. All of our food seemed to be fully cooked and we did not notice any bad tastes that would indicate that our burgers were old or looked undercooked. However we all agreed that the chipotle and ranch dips were gross but they didn’t seem to be expired. None of us ate anything that day and the red robins burgers were all our first meals of the day so we know there wasn’t any possibility of getting sick from somewhere else. Originally we thought we all may have just been feeling bloated and overly full causing nausea as we all ate very fast since we hadn’t eaten at all during the day but once we started to throw up we knew we all had food poisoning. I am uncertain what caused the sickness specifically from red robins as the only thing we all shared was the onion rings besides that 4 of us got chicken that could of possibly made us sick but that doesn’t explain how one of us who ate a beef burger also got sick. Since we all shared onion rings and dip/fries it could be possible that those side caused the food poisoning however it seems like it would be unlikely to get sick from a few onion rings supposed to meat products. This is unfortunate as we all used to love red robins but after a few unsatisfactory restaurant experiences there we all decided to stop eating at this location. After not eating there for over 5 years we decided to give red robins another chance as we were all very hungry and close by. We all felt like it was enjoyable and a good meal, but our opinions quickly changed when we got increasingly sicker. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Headache, Sweating
