I had lunch with two friends at the Subway in Powell, OH on Thursday, January 17th. I ordered the 6” Chicken Bacon Ranch Melt sub on wheat bread and added lettuce, pepper jack cheese, green peppers and banana peppers along with the ranch sauce. My one friend also had a chicken sub, but a different one. I think she also added lettuce, pepper jack cheese and banana peppers, among a few other toppings. Her husband ordered an Italian sub and did not get sick. On Friday evening around 8:00 PM, I started to feel queasy. Then around 11PM, about 35 hours after eating my sub, the vomiting and had diarrhea started and lasted throughout the night. I was able to keep liquids down this morning but am very tired, still with cramping and diarrhea. I learned this morning that my friend was also up last night starting about 2:00 AM with similar symptoms. The timing and fact that we both ate similar items at Subway make it the likely culprit. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting
