Exploding OJ Causes Illness - Tim Hortons, Peterborough Ontario

4 years ago reported by user-ykbhw939 business

Tim Hortons, Chemong Road, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

871-875 Chemong Road, Peterborough, K9H 5Z5 Ontario, Canada

I had gone through the drive through around 6:50am ordered a bottle of Orange Juice. Sesame Seed bagel double toasted with butter, and bacon with a 10 pac of Tim Bits old fashioned plain, honey dipped, and double chocolate. As I was on my way home from driving my wife into work I decided to go to that store as it was close by, and I had to decided being the weather was nice to drive by the Trent River on the way home. I had a couple of bites of my bagel, checked the expiry date as always ( due the fact I got Ghardia about 5 yrs ago at a food restaurant here in Peterbough I was quarantined in the PRHC then sent home. The fix was only Gatorade and unsalted crackers for 12 days.) when I opened the bottle it exploded like a pop can that dropped on the floor. It was pouring out of the bottle I made an immediate effort to signal, and merge off the main traffic flow as well putting the mouth of the bottle into my mouth to try and avoid another further mess as well as become a hazard on the road I was driving on luckily there was no traffic that early on a Sunday morning. When the contents of the bottle had filled my mouth I swallowed it and the taste was absolutely hideous it was rancid and tasted like a soda pop that had dirt in it I had my window down spit what I could out. As I was in quickly wiping down all the affected areas of the spillage etc I felt very queezy all of a sudden I then vomited 1, 2 , 3 times started to heave I then felt like it was going to eliminate from my backside I opened the rear door of the truck on the drivers side grabbed my container of wipes then proceeded to have a liquified runny pungent bowel movement wiped myself it happened again. After 5-6 mins I cleaned up contacted the Store To ask for the Store Owners name and phone number. The gentleman who was being coached by the Supervisor advised me that they could take my name at number and contact me back which I complied making sure that the message would include that I had food poisoning 5 or so years prior and I expected a call back within 15-20 minutes which I reiterated twice making sure he was clear and gave my name and phone number. While waiting for the call I review the HAACP guide book and looked at precedent actions against them as well as went on the Upper Canada Law Society rule book on food poisoning liability. It read loud & clear the responsibilities of food chain owners. I contacted the store 1 more time sokl | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting
