again w/ my dogs as I saw no "off limits" dog ingredients listed. I got sick again, the Shepherd was very soft and the terrier has been cashing out for five days now. He'll drink and eat bland food, though. Anyone else have issues with Flips as self or w/ pets and anything we should be aware of? (pets, special diet restrictions, etc.)?
06/23 update: Brought my dog, Pippin, to the vet today and he has no parasites, no Ghiardea (sp?), and any toxin would have passed through by now. His physical exam was fine except much inflammation and visible soreness. He has the inflammation and, also, severe dehydration from the chronic diarrhea. I was lucky to find a vet to take him when I could. My usual vet and I were first in touch with the awhile ago and that vet started me off on trying bland diet, pepcid AC for stomach upset, removal of certain foods, etc. first before we could get an appt and have Pippin seen physically with a vet visit today. He left with subcutaneous fluids, special paste and capsule probiotics to stop "the trots" and and an antibiotic. He did have elevated kidney function reading and inflammation. Kidney score likely due to the inflammation, but we'll retest him in a month to be sure he is clear of the runs and has normal kidney function. As for me? I'm going to head to the store for some probiotics myself. This update might help some people. If it is food-borne it can pass between humans and pets and from pet to pet.
