Hi, thanks for your comment. According to the CDC, norovirus is the leading cause of foodborne illness, and it spreads easily. Norovirus is not related to the flu, which is caused by the influenza virus. You can get norovirus illness from:
- Having direct contact with an infected person.
- Consuming contaminated food or water.
- Touching contaminated surfaces and then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth.
