Please keep in mind that the majority of people reporting are in a time of distress while experiencing illness, and not all are able to go to the doctor for various reasons or they report before getting their results, which can take a couple of days. The information about what they ate and what their symptoms are is vital to the early detection of outbreaks, even if they have not yet visited a doctor or medical facility. Getting a diagnosis is really useful, but if anyone is experiencing food poisoning symptoms, we encourage them to report it even if they have not received one yet.

Our family heritage is in clubs & pubs so having grown up in that environment, I’m accustomed to the industry and albeit it is a massive hotel chain, they are noticeably sloppy with their cleanliness. The Paramedic’s weren’t able to confirm 100% but they suspected the bacteria likely came from the blender based on the fact that the ice is widely used in all guests drinks who had ordered from that bar. The hotel have been absolutely appalling to deal with and have offered no satisfactory resolution whatsoever.m, they’ve called just to ‘check in’ once and said the drinks we had were ‘on the house’. I’ll be perusing the matter further because we have travelled here from Australia and I do appreciate its not something to boast about but we are paying north of $2000 per night for the two rooms and haven’t been able to leave the room, and toilet for the better part of 24 hours, we couldn’t go to the NYE dinner we booked and paid for on the basis that we were poisoned by the Hilton. I understand that mistakes happen but their name is on the door therefore the Buck stops with them and unfortunately after a 14 hour flight - drinks on the house doesn’t even begin to compensate us. Omg my sister and I got food poisoning from here too. I am not sure if this is the EXACT place but we both got diarrhea and I started to throw up on the same day that I got a pina colada and she got pineapple juice by the pool bar at the Hilton Hawaiian Village

Not defending the hotel, however, I was violently ill the first week of December, like both ends at the same time.And last week I just had diarrhea with horrible stomach cramps.
I think it's just been raging in Honolulu for a while and it's everywhere.
I saw a 12 year old kid barfing in front of Safeway Kapahulu, with his mom like right after Christmas.
Sounds like either the employee was sick, or another guest at the bar? Who knows. But yea, everyone is catching everything like it's for revenge.

Our family of 7 traveled to Riu Latino from 5/13/23 - 5/20/23. I experienced vomiting on day 2 and diarrhea/nausea the entire rest of the trip. Still have it going on today at home 5/22. All of my family members experienced diarrhea and nausea the entire week.... See More 2 of them (besides me) experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea at the end of the trip. Norovirus outbreak in San Luis Obispo County

San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department is investigating a Norovirus outbreak linked to a restaurant located in the north of the county. 97 people have become ill as part of the outbreak, which was first reported on May 11. According to the news, the SLO County Public Health Epidemiologist, said that the Public Health Department investigated the outbreak and identified a restaurant as the exposure source. The department began working to limit the spread of the virus by promoting “mass cleaning and disinfection” of the restaurant. The restaurant has been cleaned three times since the outbreak was first reported.
At this time, it is unclear what products were involved in the outbreak or what company was involved. No further information on the outbreak has been released.
Norovirus is very contagious and is easily transmitted from person to person most through the oral/fecal route. Considering that hand sanitizer does NOT work against this virus, it is important to wash your hands with soap frequently. Use bleach to clean and disinfect surfaces.
