Dunkin Donuts, North Cable Road, Lima, OH, United States

751 North Cable Road, Lima, 45805 Ohio, United States

On July 1, 2017 I ate the TURKEY CHEDDAR BACON CIABATTA, and ate a couple partial donuts to try since I have never had Dunkin Donuts before. I had part of the chocolate filled donut (a powdered donut with what tasted like chocolate cake frosting inside), partial specialty donut that was glazed with chocolate stripes and a fruit filling inside, and a couple asst. munchkin donut holes. Items were consumed between 10:10AM and 10:48 AM. I then drove home to Wapakoneta, OH and laid down since I had worked third shift the night before and hadn't slept yet. At around 3:40 PM I was awoken from my sleep with chills, back pain, severe abdominal cramping, labored breathing from the abdominal pain, and diarrhea. At 4:32 PM I contacted my employer letting them know I wasn't feeling well and to have back up coverage in case I was unable to make it in to work my shift (which was scheduled to start at 10:30 PM that evening). I informed them my symptoms and suspected food poisoning but I wasn't certain since I have never had food poisoning before and thus far was not vomiting. Vomiting started shortly afterwards and I had four episodes of that over the next twelve hours. I went to the Wapakoneta, OH Urgent Care the next day, July 2, 2017, at around 11:15 AM. I was given a pill to take sublingual and then swallow after dissolved at Urgent Care and a script for the exact same pill called into CVS to take every 6 hours to stop the nausea and vomiting. Urgent care also had ordered an x-ray to be done the next day to rule out bleeding stomach ulcer which they thought I might have had based on the severe abdominal pain and color of emesis (vomit). They did instruct me to go to ER if symptoms got worse.
My symptoms did not get worse as far as what I had already experienced, but I did go to the ER the next day because I was severely dehydrated. I had not taken in more than 8 oz. of fluid in over 48 hours and had not been able to eat anything but two small bites of dry toast since eating at Dunkin Donuts—Lima, OH, Cable Road location.
The ER nurse did draw blood for testing, started me on an IV, and obtained a urine sample for additional testing.
