Had a quick dinner 5:00 Thursday February 14th. My order was lo mein with orange chicken, Beijing beef and cream cheese Rangoon’s split with my mom. She ordered an orange chicken and rice bowl. I also brought home a take out order for my father of fried rice, orange chicken and Beijing beef. I started feeling strange at 11 pm. Went to bed but woke up around 3 am with headache, dizziness, perspiration. Ate a couple crackers and some hot tea. Then violently vomited three times. Went back to sleep feeling a little better. But around 5:30 am got that nauseated feeling back. Threw up three more times. Called in sick from school as a teacher in the hickory hills area. Tried going back to sleep. Never really could. Around 6:30 to 7 am was on the toilet (no solids all liquid). Then got up lol and puked in the shower twice next to the toilet. Sounds funny but wasn’t fun! Lol. Decided to check into the hospital in la grange. Got some anti nausea medicine. Wasn’t sure if it was stomach flu or virus or food poisoning. The doctor and nurse hinted at a virus since my bloodwork was clean and my vitals were ok. Most importantly I was able to get stronger medication to get some rest between 7-11 am. Had some chicken noodle soup for lunch. Bowels still not solid though. Went back to sleep. Got up around 10 pm. Felt much better. Ate some crackers and oatmeal cream pie lol. Fast forward to Saturday night. Mom has got the aches, chills. Then threw up more than 3 times. Also diarrhea like me. Then an hour or so later my father joins in the vomiting act. Both of them were up most of the night taking turns puking and the runs. Now Sunday evening I am pretty much back to full strength and both of them after a restless day and weakness are sleeping sound as I write. Fun weekend! But it had to be food poisoning now that all three of us were affected with the same symptoms and now nearly back to normal. We’ve always enjoyed Panda Express.
