Chicken Meal Causes Illness - Swiss Chalet, Calgary Alberta

1 week ago reported by user-rpqc5387 business

Swiss Chalet, Signal Hill Centre Southwest, Calgary, AB, Canada

5658 Signal Hill Centre Southwest, Calgary, T3H 3P8 Alberta, Canada

Sunday September 29, 2024 I joined a group from church for lunch at Swiss Chalet Signal Hill SW Calgary. I had the breast of chicken, ceasar salad and 1/2 a baked potato with sour cream. I draft the water they served me. Shortly after finishing my meal I began to feel ill with severe stomach cramps and was somewhat nauseous. Later that afternoon I had really bad diarrhea and had a salty taste in my mouth as if I was going to throw up. The stomach problems continued on and off over the next 5 days with more diarrhea. I was in town from B.C. for family funeral so planned on seeing my doctor on my return to Victoria n I limited myself to clear broth and toast for those 5 days. Starting on day 6 I began eating some regular food but kept to mild food, limiting dairy. On day 9 I had a bowel movement that was back to normal - the first since these problems began however there was a lot of brown mucus in amongst the stool. I am awaiting appointment to see my doctor. I had mentioned to restaurant server that I tend to have a severe reaction to MSG but they assured me they don’t use MSG. Usually if I do react to MSG in food, I only suffer for that day. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Cramps, Nausea
