I am on an all inclusive holiday and so narrowing down the exact culprit is difficult but I suspect that the monkfish served on Thursday 19th Oct may have been to blame. The texture was mushy and spongey (like soggy/saturated bread). I ate some and left the
rest. My son ate some too. He had diarrhea and stomach cramps that night and into the day. I was fine in the daytime but around 7.30pm started feeling a bit off. By 10.30pm I was being repeatedly sick and with terrible diarrhea, chills and fever accompanied this through the whole night. Unable to hold down even water. Still feeling naseus now, last diarrhea was around an hour ago. Sickness around 3 hours ago.
The only other possible source i can think I can think of is that my son and I both went sea swimming. The water quality appeared to be great though. Very clear. No odd smells. No obvious sewage issues.
Obviously we are eating from buffet service and have used the hand sanitisers provided but germs are inevitable at these types of services and I might have been unlucky.
The hotel has been lovely and very clean so I'm sure this is just a one off but just incase others also had the same problem i thought I'd post as it has been horrific. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Cramps, Chills
