Honey Food Poisoning

Honey can be contaminated with harmful bacteria, leading to food poisoning. Most commonly, it is contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. Infection with Clostridium botulinum causes botulism. Botulism is often characterized by diarrhea, blurred vision, and difficulty swallowing 12-36 hours after consumption. In serious cases, botulism can lead to paralysis.
