2401 West Main Street, Norristown, 19403 Pennsylvania, United States

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH) and the Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) are investigating an outbreak of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infections linked to Gino’s Ristorante & Pizzeria located in West Norriton, PA. The source of the outbreak remains under investigation.

As of January 7, 2021, 11 total cases are under investigation, with 9 confirmed cases of Hepatitis A and 2 potential cases of Hepatitis A. Of the 9 confirmed cases, 7 people were hospitalized. 1 death is confirmed and one additional death is under investigation.

If you are experiencing Hepatitis A symptoms like fever, jaundice, nausea, clay-colored stool, dark urine, malaise, abdominal discomfort, or vomiting, it is important to report it. It can help to detect and resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
