Feta Food Poisoning

Feta, like other soft cheeses, can be contaminated with Listeria, Campylobacter, and Cryptosporidium. Listeria can be especially harmful to pregnant women, people over the age of 65, and those with weakened immune systems. Consuming pasteurized products and proper food handling practices help eliminate the risk of such infections.

cheese. By 9 pm I was experiencing sharp stomach pains leading to severe vomiting and diarrhea throughout the night. Symptoms resolved by morning. All other foods I consumed that day were also consumed by family members who did not get sick. This leads me to believe that something from the restaurant caused the sudden illness.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain
