Had spinach and romaine lettuce with honey mustard and hard boiled egg topping, caesar salad, Joans Broccolli Madness, strawberry lemonade (that contains pieces of fresh strawberries), ice water, potato leek soup, chili and a gluten friendly muffin.The next morning I had a couple hours of nauseau (but no vomiting). Then I had abdominal pain and explosive diarrhea for seven hours. I was basically pooping out brown water and all of the lettuce and broccoli parts until it finally was all out. My butt felt like it was on fire the whole day. By the evening I was on the mend (though still not 100%) so I didn’t see a doctor. Worked on replacing all those lost fluids before i retire for the night.
I have eaten at Sweet Tomatoes for many years and this has never happened. And I always eat the same salad bar items, and soups. Now I am afraid to return. In fact I have a gift card with $40 left that I am thinking about just giving to someone or better yet, throw it away to spare someone else the risk of all these raw vegetable, legume and fruit items. On the surface, the establishment gives the impression of a safe and healthy place to dine. But now I understand how risky their particular food offerings can be. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea
