Hot Bar Meal Illness - Whole Foods Market, Los Angeles California

1 year ago reported by user-qgfjg461 business

Whole Foods Market, 225 Lincoln Boulevard, Venice, CA, USA

225 Lincoln Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90291 California, United States

My wife got food poisoning after eating a meal from the Hot Bar on Sunday night, Dec. 15. We stopped to eat in-store around 7:30 pm. She had the pork entree (carnitas with lime), brown rice, fresh spinach, fresh cucumber, and the broccoli from one of the hot entrees.

Later that night she started feeling sick to her stomach and had trouble sleeping. The next day she had no appetite, had chills, had a stomachache and headache and was not able to get out of bed until around midday when she starting having alternating bouts of diarrhea and vomiting, tell-tale signs of food poisoning, which continued during the afternoon. She was not able to eat anything all day Monday and finally was able to eat some chicken soup yesterday, Tuesday.

I called the store on Monday night and spoke with the Prepared Foods Manager. I asked if anyone else had called in regarding food poisoning. He said no, but that he would report it to the store manager.

My wife has a very healthy disposition, no food allergies, and never gets sick from eating any type of food. She eats very healthy, thus the reason we stopped to eat at WholeFoods on Sunday. She is feeling better now and was able to at least eat solid food today.

We are very surprised that this happened. My wife and I have eaten meals from the Hot Bar on numerous occasions at various locations and I have lunch there about once a week at the DTLA location. We have always trusted WholeFoods' quality of the food and hygiene standards. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Chills, Headache, Loss of Appetite
