The New York’s Department of Agriculture and Markets announced a recall of 454 gram (1 pound) packages of “Mevai Till Oi” brand Apricots Organic Natural with Pits by Delicious Food Distributors, Inc. of Brooklyn, New York because they contained undeclared sulfites. These products were distributed throughout New York City in retail stores. No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

The “Mevai Till Oi” brand Apricots Organic Natural with Pits comes in 454 gram (1 pound) clear plastic package marked with an expiration date of June 2023 on the front of the label. The product UPC code is 721248880642.

Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. Analysis of the “Mevai Till Oi” brand Apricots Organic Natural with Pits revealed it contained 18.0 milligrams per serving. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.

If you have the recalled product in your home, please do not eat it, throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Pâtisserie Harmonie, a Montreal-based bakery located at 85 Rue De la Gauchetière Ouest, Montréal, QC, Canada, has issued a recall for several of its pastry products due to the undeclared presence of soy. The recall was announced in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food … See More
(MAPAQ) and the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal. To date, no allergic reactions related to the consumption of these products have been reported to MAPAQ.

The affected products include:

- Coconut Twist (140g)
- Coconut Bread (600g)
- Coconut stuffed with cream (450g)

All lots of these products, which do not have a label indicating the presence of soy, are included in the recall. The products were sold in clear plastic bags bearing the company's name and were available only at the Pâtisserie Harmonie establishment. The products were sold at room temperature.

People who suffer from a soy allergy should not consume the products and return them to the store where they were purchased.
