Conference Catering Causes Illness - Buffet, Albuquerque New Mexico

6 years ago reported by user-ftpzx653 business

Albuquerque Convention Center, 2nd Street Northwest, Albuquerque, NM, USA

401 2nd Street Northwest, Albuquerque, 87102 New Mexico, United States

On Wednesday 4/24/19, I attended the Head 2 Toe conference at the Albuquerque Convention Center and ate every meal provided by the Center. This included:
1) The following items from breakfast buffet (at 8:45): eggs with green chile, hash browns, and a dark brown muffin.
2) Lunch (at 12pm): Appetizer salad and one green chile bread roll; main course: roast beef with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
3) Dessert (1pm): an ice cream sandwich.
4) One snack option (3pm): 2 quesadilla wedges with salsa.

At 9:30pm that same night I experienced sudden onset diarrhea and nausea. Half an hour later at 10pm, I began vomiting. I also had a fever and chills. At 3am that night the nausea subsided. I felt fatigued for the next several days which resulted in loss of productivity at work.

One of my colleagues who attended the same day of this conference at the Albuquerque Convention Center also experienced food poisoning; she ate all of the same foods I listed above.

I am very concerned because the catering for the conference was arranged by the Albuquerque Convention Center, which is owned by the City of Albuquerque. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Chills, Fatigue
