Inspectors found several significant food safety violations during the inspection, and citations were issued. There was no City of Chicago certified food manager on site while foods such as rice, eggs, tomatoes, beef, and beans were being prepared. A rear prep-area handwashing sink did not have a way for employees to dry their hands. Inspectors also found cold foods held above the required temperature, including cooked rice, picadillo, and raw beef; these items were voluntarily discarded.Other significant violations included prepared foods stored without required date labels, including masala gravy, potatoes, rice, mashed vegetables, and beans, which were also voluntarily discarded. The menu did not include the required consumer advisory for eggs that may be served raw or undercooked. Inspectors also noted improper thawing of raw and cooked beef, picadillo, and beans; unlabeled working ingredients; dirty floors in the dishwashing area and storage closet; and three employees without proof of food handler training.
