starting at 6:30 a.m. I contacted my endocrinologist and she prescribed Zofran, a sublingual medication used to stop vomiting. The vomiting continued as well as severe diarrhea, cold sweats, and stomach cramping. The ketones in my urine were increasing, which is dangerous for a Type 1 diabetic. I was unable to keep liquids down and was severely dehydrated. I was sent to the hospital and was on fluids as well as medication and constant monitoring. At some point, I was experiencing tachycardia and low potassium levels, both pretty dangerous. Needless to say I’m never going back.
