Goodbye! and best wishes in your recovery

It is possible to get sick from cereal. In 2018 Quaker Oats recalled Capn' Crunch due to a Salmonella outbreak that infected 135 people. In 2010 Kellogg's recalled 28 million boxes of cereal due to 'off-flavor and smell'  and the possibility of symptoms, including nausea and diarrhea.

    Lucky Charms are magically contaminated!!
*** Lucky Charms - Magic Gems *** Box Stamp ~~ 04 Jul2023 BU0456 08 ~~ I bought a huge box of the Magic Gems in Sept ‘22. Both myself & husband have realized it’s not a coincidence that we’ve both gotten sick... See More after eating it. I’m super bloated, constant indigestion with unruly burping & intestinal distress and diarrhea & nausea!! It’s the cereal that’s made us ill again!! If you have this in your home throw it out!! It’s made us both sick several times & we finally figured out it always happens after we have a bowl of lucky charms for a snack. GM, this is my 1st time looking to see if a food has a recall and I’m 49. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Something else, Indigestion, Burping, Bloating See Less

I got sick off the same box of lucky charms and I swear all I could taste was sulfur and marshmallows that’s how I know it was the lucky charms that got me sick. Both times I had explosive unrelenting runs, and vomiting and a sulfur taste that just reeked of lucky charms marshmallows. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital but after spending the entire day in the bathroom on the bowl sweating and wishing I was dead it started to stop. I had flushed out whatever that poisonous cereal did to me. I wish I had known about this before I ate that cereal again. God I can still taste the sulfur marshmallows 😩

Their sized box with two large bags of the Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal. I have had this cereal over the years without issue. Within 6 hours this causes profound diarrhea that lasted about 18 hours. At first I didn’t believe it was the cereal and several days... See More later ate the cereal again, and a similar result ensued. | Symptoms: Diarrhea See Less

10/1/2022-10/2/2022, Bear Naked Granola I have not been this ill in over 20 years. I have also eaten granola all my life and have never had problems. There is clearly something wrong with this cereal. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Other See Less

My daughter ate a bowl of lucky charms yesterday evening for a night time snack while I worked late on call and developed systemic hives all over her body. I gave her benadryl and she woke up almost hive free. I kept her home from school and... See More she seemed fine all day. For lunch, all she wanted was a bowl of cereal so once again, she had lucky charms and started breaking out in huge hives again!! | Symptoms: Other See Less

Honey Nut Cheerios I got nauseated, bloated, dizzy, headache, and had extreme diarrhea. It has happened more than once over the last six months and I did not realize until this past week that it happens after eating the cereal. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Other See Less

5yo Kiddo had a small bowl at grandmas house. Had had no other questionable food prior prior to having a bowl. Within 20min kiddo began projectile vomiting and can't keep anything down for last 6 hours. Immediately ejected all signs of cereal, and continuing to vomit bile... See More as an accute response. Kiddo has had NO other prior food poisoning and was her first time vomiting all together. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Bile See Less

Bought a family sized box of Cheerios Oat Crunch Almond last week. On Monday, I ate a bowlful with regular milk (fresh milk, just purchased). About two hours later, severe stomach cramps, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea all day. I don't eat cereal often because of the sugar content,... See More so I didn't eat anymore of the cereal for a few days. Until today. Within an hour or so, the diarrhea, nausea, and dizziness returned. Today is Sept. 23, 2022. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Cramps, Dizziness See Less

Bad diarrhea twice in three days. Seemed to coincide with eating Life Cereal. Don’t know for sure. | Symptoms: Diarrhea See Less

I started having a few nights when I would wake up with crazy stomach pains and then diarrhea. I thought it was from milk as I had a bowl of cereal the night before. However, after testing just milk a few months later I was confused as... See More I could drink a glass of milk and be fine. On a couple occasions (1 being today) I tested out if it was lucky charms. I had a bowl and within 3 hours I had diarrhea and stomach pains. My stomach handles a variety of foods, however there appears to be something in Lucky Charms that is causing a lot of pain. The stomach stuff seems to stick around for 24 hours.

09/20 update: I bought them at least a year ago. This has happened about 4-5 times. It took me a little while to realize what it was. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain

This has happened several times and I always thought it was just me. Everytime I have had Lucky Charms within the past year or so I have had insanely bad diarrhea and stomach pain that lasts 1-2 days. Figured it was the food dye as it gave... See More me green stool, but not sure about this. I have singled it out to likely being the marshmallows. This only started happening in the past year or so. I have dropped other foods and ruled that Lucky Charms was the culprit. Have avoided them since and haven’t had anymore issues, but there is definitely something up with that cereal. Ate this cereal my whole life and this didn’t start until now. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain See Less
