Popcorn Food Poisoning

Popcorn Food Poisoning

Popcorn could be the source of food poisoning. In 2012, ready-to-eat popcorn was recalled due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that leads to food poisoning and severe illness. Listeria can be especially harmful to pregnant women, people over the age of 65, and those with weakened immune systems.

Popcorn

I ate popcorn from a bag of kettle corn and the next day I got very sick, vomiting and diarrhea all night. I didn’t know the kettle corn was the cause and thought it was something else so I still had the bag and about 2 weeks later after snacking on the popcorn again, the same thing happened.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain
